1. So... this class is about Web 2.0. What is web 2.0? Your task:

Google it.
Review a few sites with information about web 2.0.
Write a brief (2-3 sentence summary of web 2.0).
Post your summary under Learning Task #2 on your wiki page -- probably can't do this until #3 below.

2. What are some Web 2.0 tools?

Explore these sites for some ideas: UDL Tech Toolkit, 60 in 60, The 35 Best..., Cool Web Tools
You don't have to setup any accounts. Just browse for a bit.

3. Using Wikis

Wiki is not a bad word!!
Click here for more info -- watch these videos for more info about our site (tour, editing your page, links and files, membership and discussion). Here's another example from youtube. There are even more tutorials on Youtube if needed.
Go to your wiki page on this site (hint: http://jsangiovanni.wikispaces.com/"your name"). You can also find it linked to the course page.

4. Today's Meet

Today's meet is a tool for collaboration
It gives everyone a voice in the classroom... limited to 140 characters

Here's an example i just created (John's example tutorial video, another tutorial video) link to our discussion room https://todaysmeet.com/684251
You need to create a room, post a message, and link your room to your wiki page -- shouldn't take to long

5. Using Kidblog

We will use kidblog for our reflections from this point forward. Our kidblog site is http://kidblog.org/684251fall/.You can find your name in the dropdown menu and your password is 684251 (the course code).
Watch these videos to get a sense of what kidblog is and how to use it
I set up our course and put your names in. You will post your weekly reflection here.
Setup your own kidblog account for a simulated (or current) class. Name your class whatever your like. Setup some dummy (or real) students through the dashboard. Post a link to your simulated class so I can see that you've set it up.

TO DO FOR THIS LEARNING TASK:

Edit your wiki page. Post a short bio about yourself. Try to upload a picture if you like.
Edit your wiki page. Post a brief summary (2-3 sentences) about web 2.0.
Post to my todays meet page about UDL or SAMR depending on what you researched for Learning Task (LT) #1.
Create your own todays meet room. Post a link to it on your wiki page under learning task #2.
